FARM SHARE KICKS-OFF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF LETTER CARRIERS
LARGEST SINGLE DAY FOOD DRIVE- STAMP OUT HUNGER ®
WHAT: Farm Share has joined Florida’s National Association of Letter Carriers in the largest single-day food drive in the country – Stamp Out Hunger ®. In support of these efforts, Farm Share is hosting kick-offs throughout Florida to raise awareness and the needs of hungry Floridians who are food insecure, reside in food deserts and live in hunger.
Farm Share, the lead agency coordinating efforts in all 67 counties, is asking Floridians to collect non-perishable food items and place them by their mailboxes on Saturday, May 12th. A letter carrier will pick-up all donated non-perishable food and will deliver them to local food banks, food pantries and designated Farm Share “collection sites.” Items will then be weighed and distributed to individuals and families facing hunger in the communities where the items were collected through Farm Share’s partnering organizations and Farm Share affiliates.
