Palmetto Bay, FL- Hundreds lined up Saturday for a special care package. Farm Share partners with State Rep. Frank Artiles, Christ Fellowship, and Walmart to give free food to Palmetto Bay residents in need.
On Saturday, people waited to get their share of more than 30,000 pounds of food at Christ Fellowship Church in the South Florida area. About 1,000 people showed up to the event.
The event had fun for the whole family with cotton candy, hotdogs, face painting, and a bounce house. In celebration of the Easter holiday, the church hosted an egg hunt every 30 minutes.
The families in need were given enough food for nearly two weeks. Though the line was still long at noon, Farm Share had enough food to satisfy the demand. The giveaway event ended at 1 p.m.
