Homestead, FL- Farm Share teamed up with Representative Holly Raschein, National Deli, and Bimbo Bread to sponsor a food distribution feeding hundreds of hungry families in Homestead.
National Deli and Bimbo Bread provided over 2,000 hotdogs and buns for families in need. Bimbo bakeries brought ‘Bimbo Bear’-their mascot- to wave at each car as families drove by to pick up food.
Our Farm Share CEO said, in a WSVN-local FOX affiliate in South Florida-interview, it was the biggest turnout she’s seen. “We’ve had people lined up since 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon, spent the night, so that they would be first in line even though we were telling them there was plenty of food, we will not run out of food,” said Patricia Robbins.
Each household not only received hot dogs and buns, but also fresh fruits, vegetables, frozen meats, canned food, and other goods.
