362 house holds 1,303 individuals served. A special thank you to School Board Member Dr. Dorthy Bendross – Mindingall and the staff of MDC. This event served directly to the children of the community. School busses of children came to pick up bags of produce to take home for their families. What a great way to spend a Friday afternoon.
February 7, 2015 –Wakulla County
Over 500 households served.A special thank you to the girl scouts of troop 109 for their help. In total farm share was able to share 12,000 lbs. of green beans, pickles, bell peppers, salad mix, bread, yogurt, silk milk, tea, toiletries with the community of Crawford, Florida.
February 7, 2015 – Jacksonville, FL
391 households – 1136 individuals were served 18,842 lbs. of recovered fresh produce, bread and shelf stabel goods. Thank you to the Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville for hosting this free food give away and the The Florida Department of Children and Families for your continued support.
February 7, 2015 – Miami, FL
1000 households and 3,360 individuals were served carts full of nutritious food including: meat, green beans, zucchini, bread, canned goods and more. Thank you to Commissioner Rodney Harris and the Mt Zion A.M.E Church of Miami Gardens for hosting, helping and making the event a smooth success.

150 households served, this distribution was for one of the Senior Housing centers that Farm Share helps with additional food. The distribution took place at Vivian Villas in Hialeah along with Commissioner Lourdes Lozano.
How does recovered and donated food reach the communities of Florida?
Farm Share, Inc provides food to numerous Non-Profit organizations. We have over 400 agencies in the Panhandle of Florida who are signed up to come pick up food from our Quincy facility each week. There are another 378 agencies and churches in Miami – Dade County and 100 in Broward County who rely on our Homestead location, roughly 450 agencies are served from our Jacksonville location. These groups pick up truckloads of items and are able to sort, bag and distribute from their locations. These groups help us to extend our reach to communities located all over Florida. Additionally, we have a network of agencies with Star of the Sea in Monroe county, as well as distribute to 17 additional partner agencies in West Palm Beach, Sanford, Kissimmee, Lakeland, Frost Proof, Homosassa, Panama, Rivera Beach, Ocoee, Ft Myers and N. Ft Myers, Hernando, New Port Richey, St. Petersburg, Orlando, Tampa and the Florida Keys, which serve a total of 126,800 households.

9,165 lbs. of bread, 54,000 lbs. of frozen food items, 9880 lbs. of drink items, 10,176 lbs. of green beans, 5738 lbs. of zucchini and squash, 3388 lbs. of tomatoes, 4,938 lbs. of assorted produce, 3,520 lbs. of non food items and 13,630 lbs. of miscellaneous types of food. That equals 114,434 lbs of donated items to share with local communities.
253,246 lbs. of fresh produce, shelf food items, and non food items to share with local agencies and communities throughout the State of Florida. Homestead was able to distribute 236,857 lbs. of nutritious food and items to local communities in only one week!
