Thanks to our Volunteers, Sponsors and Donations Farm Share, Inc was able to provide families throughout Florida with Thanksgiving Dinners.
Here are some highlights from our Thanksgiving week.
The Homestead team was able to deliver 12,000 pre cooked turkey dinners to Dade and Broward County on behalf of Christ Fellowship and The Big Heart Brigade.
Our Jacksonville distribution sponsored by Wellcare on Nov. 21st served over 425 families 14,875 lbs. of food.
Thanks to the 80,000 lbs. of food donations received at our Jacksonville location Thanksgiving week our Farm Share team and volunteers distributed over 72, 000lbs of food and grocery items to 90 agencies helping 10″s of thousands of families in the community.
In addition Our Jacksonville distribution on November 21st, sponsored by Wellcare, served over 425 families 14,875 lbs. of food. Momentum Transportation joined us at the Wellcare distribution passing out 113 Thanksgiving bags that included $10 gift cards. Their donation was over 1300 lbs. Thank you Momentum Transportation for joining us and helping these families have a Thanksgiving Dinner.
At our Clearwater Distribution, Senator Latvala bought turkeys to go with the avocados, asparagus, zucchini, green beans, yogurt, juices, bread, and pastries.
At our Miami Distribution, Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Senator Rene Garcia and your teams who came out to help bag and distribute trunks full of meat, canned goods, and fresh vegetables at Ameila Erhart Park in Hialeah.
This Week at Farm Share
Our Quincy Location received
73519 lbs. of food this past week,
including 6,725 lbs. of non food items.
The donations included bread, okra, assorted types of produce, bananas and frozen food. We don’t do it alone. Thank you to the volunteers who come in Monday – Friday to help us sort and distribute to the community.
Our Homestead Location received
164974 lbs. of food this past week.
The donations included bread, tomatoes, assorted types of produce, okra, cucumbers, and green beans.
How does our food reach others in the community daily?
Farm Share, Inc provides food to numerous Non-Profit organizations. At our Quincy location we have over 400 agencies in the panhandle who are signed up to come pick up food from our facility once a week. These groups pick up truckloads of items and are able to sort, bag and distribute from their locations. These groups help us to extend our reach to communities located all over Florida.

Miami Bethany Picks Up Emergency Donation
Here is John and Alfio from our Homestead location with a truck full of food items for Miami Bethany to distribute to those in need. Farm Share, Inc could not distribute food to the local communities without the help of our dedicated team, volunteers, sponsors, donors and other non profit groups.

For every dollar donated, Farm Share distributes more than 10 pounds of nutritious food to help feed the hungry.
If you donate $10, we will distribute 110 lbs of food to local churches, homeless shelters, and soup kitchens.
